2)main refractory part of the eye. and why it's easy to transplant cornea? which part of retina is responsible for the greatest visual Clarity and acuity?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Most refraction in the eye occurs when light rays travel through the curved, clear front surface of the cornea.

We can state two reasons why it is easier to transplant cornea:

a. The cornea is completely devoid of blood hence there is no need for matching between the donor and recipient. Anyone can receive a cornea from any other person if need be.

b. Also, joining of vessels in other organ transplants is tricky, laborious and time-consuming and any fault in these connections can lead to complications.

The rods and cones are responsible for visual clarity and acuity. The concentration of rods and cones are highest in the fovea centralis of the retina. Hence this is the area of greatest visual clarity and acuity.
