• The cellular components which allow the cell to have the status of being 'alive' include the features that supports its reproduction and division.

These include:

• Cytoplasmic streaming for transport of various organelles and solutes in different parts of the cell. It is essential for respiration and excreting waste products from the cell.
• Replication of genetic material and cell division - It is essential for the propagation of the living cell into next generations.
• Responsiveness to the changes in the environment - Living cells undergo changes in their physiology(perception) and gene expression (epigenetics) in response to the various environmental changes.
• Memory - Living cells retain a memory of the various environmental stimuli that they receive. This is crucial for modulating their responses to the diifferent changes in the environment.

While non-living cell sets don't posess any of these features for regulating reproduction or cell-division.
