To what extent can diet and nutrition influence life expectancy and infant mortality?

Answer #1

Life expectancy and infant mortality is directly connected with the diet and nutritional influence. Life expectancy of an individual is greatly affected by the food he has been taking from last many years. The amount of fat in the diet that is even bad fat taken constantly can reduce the life expectancy of an individual. Rheumatoid nutritional influence like constantly food taking with less vitamins and minerals have drastically bad effect on life expectancy. Infant mortality is even linked with this. The breast milk in infant is necessary for an infant as it increases the immunity. The increased mortality have been seen in infants who are deprived of mother's milk.

A researcher is interested in what influences a nation’s infant mortality rate. She hypothesizes that greater wealth and resource availability influences the infant mortality rate, and collected data from 6 nations to investigate this. A nation’s level of wealth and resource availability is measured as its GDP per capita in $1,000s, and its infant mortality rate is calculated as number of infant deaths per 1,000 births. Country name Infant mortality rate GDP per capita (in $1,000s) Argentina 9.7 12.7 Bahamas...
