  • A germinating seed is taking in water and oxygen along with proper temperature to use sugar for energy which is present as a reserve material in seeds to become sprouts or seedlings and gives off carbon-dioxide. When seeds get converted into seedlings or sprouts then they use the surrounding materials and sunlight to grow furthur and do photosynthesis to form sugar and utilise this for growth.
  • Seeds germinate only in required  temperature otherwise they undergoes in the state of dormancy and when the correct conditions come according to their requirement, they start to germinate and use sugar reserve for energy. They can use sugar reserve in liquid form not in dry form.
