Distinguish between N-glycosylation and unfolded protein response in the context of normal cell function and human disease progression

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Glycosylation plays an important role in eukaryotic protein folding.this glycosylation take place in ER and are of two type N type or O type while N type where Complex oligosaccride attached to asparagine or glutamine through amide linkage. This type of glycosylation plays important role in folding of secreatory protein which protein life span or function or even target is compromised.

Common disease like perkinsons or Mad cow disease or scrappie disease dye to misfolded proteins get accumulated in brain.
