The SRP recognises the signal sequence on the peptide which is translated by ribosome and SRP being a GTP binding protein helps the translation ribosome to sitnon SRP binding site on the ER membrane.In order the ER to sit on the translocon gate which is present on the side the GTP hydrolysis takes place and SRP gets released.The ribosome than sit on translocon gate and the protein then passes through the gate.So GTP hydrolysis do take place in ER membrane during co translation translocation.So given statement is true.
