compare and contrast photosynthesis and cellular respiration by addressing their chemical and structural features.

compare and contrast photosynthesis and cellular respiration by addressing their chemical and structural features.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. We shall compare and contrast photosynthesis and cellular respiration with the help of a table below:

Cellular Respiration Photosynthesis
Takes place in all living organisms. Only green plants,a few bacteria and algae carry out photosynthesis to produce energy.
Mitochondria is the site where it occurs. Chloroplast is the site of photosynthesis
Glucose and oxygen are the main reactants of the process. CO2,H2O and light energy are the reactants
End products are Co2,H2O and ATP. End products are Glucose,Oxygen and H2O
Undergoes Catabolic process Undergoes Anabolic process
Since energy is released in this process, the reaction is exergonic. Since it requires energy for carrying out the process, the reaction is endothermic.
Sunligh is not required for the process to carry on although it can occur in dark. Only takes place in the presence of Sun Light.
