Answer #1

This statament is "False".

Genetic test is a medical test that identify if their is any change in chromosome structure, gene or protein. Genetic test helps to determine the person who has been suspected to have a disease whether the person actually being affected or have chances to have disease in future.

Several methods that can be used for genetic testing:

  • Molecular genetic test, to identify the mutations or variations that can leads to disease, for this study of single gene or short DNA lengths are performed.
  • Chromosomal genetic test, in this whole chromosomes and long length of DNA has being studied whether is their any extra copy of chromosome present or chromosome deletion that can leads to development of disease condition.
  • Biochemical genetic test, in this the amount and activity levels of enzymes (proteins) are studied.

Since the human genome was first published in 2001, scientists have quickly improved genetic sequencing, generating genetic and genomic data for hundreds of organisms. As data collection improves, the ability to collect and process whole genome sequences is becoming cheaper and easier.
