Continuing from Q2, redraw your diagram after resolution of the Holliday junctions:
a) in the same plane b) in opposite planes

Which resolutions would result in genetic recombination of flanking markers? Show this on your diagram.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Resolution of the holliday junction in the same plane:

a)

This model involves the stage of crossing over and recombination of the genes by the combination of the two different chromosomal strands during recombination. The Flankning markers are the genes A,B and a and b which recombine with each other. This includes the branch point X migration model which involves the recombination of the genes.

b)

The opposite planes for the holliday junctions:

This involves the recombination of the genes in two planes X and Y during the crossing over stage.

The resolving model involves the rotation of the chromosomal strand by 180o during recombination.

There is Cournot competition between Joel (Firm 1) and Daniel (Firm 2). The inverse demand for their goods is: P(q1 +q2) = 30?2(q1 +q2), and the cost functions are: c1(q1) = 12q1, c2(q2) = 6q2. Revert to assuming that there is no capacity constraint. But now the gov- ernment imposes a price ceiling, p ? = 14, which is higher than marginal cost. As it is now illegal to sell for more than $14 per unit, the price will now...

ABC Company is preparing its 2018 financial statements. Income from Continuing Operations (ICO) for 2018 was determined to be $1,800,000, but upon further review, ABC's accountant is not certain this number is accurate. ABC has a corporate tax rate of 30%. Additionally, the company reports one year of financial data on the face of the financial statements. Use the following information to determine the adjustments, if any, to correctly report Income From Continuing Operations. 1. During 2018, ABC experienced a...

Consider countries A and B with the same (unchanging) population. In country A, people devote 60% of GDP to investment and the production function is Y=3√K, where Y denotes real GDP and K denotes the stock of physical capital. In country B, people devote 15% of GDP to investment and the production function is Y=5√K. a. Discuss the underlying intuition of the differences between countries A and B as described above (hint: there are two differences). b. Assume that both...

Question 4 Consider the following game. Firm 1, the leader, selects an output, q1, after which firm 2, the follower, observes the choice of q1 and then selects its own output, q2. The resulting price is one satisfying the industry demand curve P = 200 - q1 - q2. Both firms have zero fixed costs and a constant marginal cost of $60. a. Discussion Question: What would you do case? (CH10) DUE 5/6 The words “Cessna Skyhawk” have special meaning for anyone who has ever wanted to learn to fly. At 27 feet long and 8 feet tall, with a 36-foot wingspan, a 140 mph cruising speed, and room for two adults and their luggage, more people have learned to fly with a Cessna Skyhawk than with any other plane in aviation history. In fact, the Cessna Skyhawk is the best-selling plane of...

At the instant the projectile reaches maximum height above ground level, the displacement is x=74 m. Answer questions a, b, and c below. Show all work and details.
