Which of the following does not have its own fuel reserve?

Adipose tissue

Heart

Skeletal muscle

Liver

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ans. (d) Liver

In Adipose tissue has the triacylglycerols stored in form of fuel.

Heart muscle functions exclusively aerobically, virtually has no glycogen reserves and thus fatty acid is the main fuel source for heart muscle.

Skeletal muscle Major sources is glucose as the pyruvate formed in glycolysis is reduced to lactate and then converted to glucose in liver.

Liver plays an important role in providing fuel to the brain, muscle, and other peripheral organs. They doesnt have stored fuel by themself. they provide the fuel to the other organs.
