Encephalitis is a disease caused by a virus which can be spread by mosquitoes. encephalitis causes inflammation to the brain. the encephalitis causing virus is spread from birds and then mosquitoes and then to humans. this is called bird-mosquito cycle. encephalitis infected person may show flu-like symptoms such as fever and headache.

meningoencephalitis which in other terms called as encephalomeningitis is a disease that causes inflammation of brain. it can be caused by bacteria, virus and protozoa. it is a communicable infection spread through droplets, food, water, sexual intercourse and affected mother to child.
