Compare and contrast the histological structure of two lymphoid organs

Bone marrow    thymus
Site for maturation and synthesis of B cells. Site for maturation of the T cells.
Mature B cells are formed in the bone marrow after maturation of the child. Progenitor cell’s would be migrating from bone marrow to form mature T cells.
This organ is present near cochlea, which would contain lymphocytes and epithelial cells. This organ is situated above heart, and is a flat and bilobed organ. There are two components, cortex and medulla.
Lymphocytes would be having only B cells that are producing antibodies.    The T cells undergo thymic selection in the medulla, resulting in functional T cells.
