Modern corn is more productive than corn of 100 years ago. Several studies were conducted, focusing on improving the corn productivity. Later they started to follow a technology called growing degree days, using this technology, they came to know that temperature is an important factor for corn plant, and  maintained perfect temperature, which hleps the corn plant to grow and mature faster. Also best hybrid is taken, genetic modification also conducted to make best hybrid, such best quality crop plants were planted. These techniques increased modern corn productivity.
