Discuss how the cell is able to maintain (or attain) homeostasis in its concentration of fructose-6-phosphate. Use different conditions and examples.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A cell maintains homeostasis in terms of water and other nutrients . Fructose 6 phosphate is the key regulator in glycolysis . When cell is fed with glucose or fructose, it will be utilized for the energy by being converted into glucose 6 phosphate or fructose 6 phosphate directly and than by entering into glycolysis.

Phospho fructos kinase is the important key regulator that helps in fructose to enter glycolyis by adding phosphate

If enough energy is there glucose will be converted into glycogen by glyconeogenesis

Homeostasis of blood sugar is maintained by liver enzymes insulin and glucagon.
