Some patients with a rare immune disorder produce too much IgE and insufficient amounts of the other classes of immunoglobulins. These individuals suffer from recurrent respiratory infections by bacteria. Which of the “missing” immunoglobulin types would normally help prevent such infections?
There are five types of immunoglobulin chain namely IgA, IgD,IgG, IgE, IgM. Though all of them have ability to prevent humans from some kind of bacteria but IgG and IgA are two immunoglobulin that prevent us from recurrent bacterial diseases.
So missing immunoglobulin type in those patients is IgG and IgA. Further IgG has 4 sbclasses and out of those IgG2 subclass has the ability to prevent from bacterias like streptococcus pneumoniae and Haemophilus influenzae which can recurrent respiratoral infections.
