Regulation of Checkpoints because: To prevent a compromised cell from continuing to divide, there are internal control mechanisms that operate at three main cell cycle checkpoints and it includes G1, G2 and M. In addition to the internally controlled checkpoints, there are two groups of intracellular molecules that regulate the cell cycle. The main theme of these regulatory molecules are either to promote progress of the cell to the next phase that is positive regulation or halt the cycle that is negative regulation. In the positive regulation there are 2 groups of proteins, called cyclins and cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks), which are responsible for the progress of the cell.
