BHT additive should be banned or not? if yes propose substitutes
BHT stands for butylated hydroxytoluene. BHT is known to cause cancer in rats. Futher, many research have shown that this additive may be carcinogenic and also an endocrine disruptor. It may trigger allergic reactions, hyperactivity, organ system toxicity, can cause blood clotting when consumed in high quantities, and promote tumor growth. Therefore, BHT additive should be banned.
Some of the alternatives are :- Vitamin C, Vitamin E or Mixed Tocopherols, Ethanox 330, Essential oils etc.
