Ageing or Aging is the process by which the person becomes older.

There are two main types of ageing-

  • Intrinsic ageing - or chronological ageing is the genetically detrmined process, which is also teh antural process of aging. Signs of natural ageing includes - loss of fat under the skin, loss of muscle mass, loss of weight and hair,softening of bones.
  • Extrinsic ageing- It is the preventable of the ageing which is caused by the external factors- exposure of UV rays, smoking , sleeping positions. Signs include laxity and fragility , wrinles, spots on the skin.

The type of ageing which has the greater effect on theindividual is the extrinsic ageing.
