Answer #1

Diabetes insipidus- It is excessive urination and excessive thirst, resulting from inadequate output of the ADH hormone, secreted by the pitituary, or lack of normal response to the ADH by the kidney.

ADH - antidiuretic hormone, is an important hormone , which maintains the concentration of urine.ADH is also called vassopressin, because its function is vasoconstriction, which leads to low GFRand hence , less urine output.

Treatments-

  • Central diabetes insipidus is treated with vasopressin sprays or tablets.
  • Nephrogenic diabetes insipidus- treated with drugs that cause less urine output, and increasing the water intake in the body.
