In intrasexual selection, one sex mostly the males display certain traits or behaviours with the intention of attracting and mating with the opposite sex.

Examples of intrasexual selection-

a) the evolution of tail is an example of intersexual selection as the female peacocks choose brightly coloured male peacocks as in an order to produce such large and colourful tail , the male must have good genes.

d) the evolution of tails in window birds is an example of intrasexual selection theory as the chances of mating of long tailed male birds with female is higher than the short tailed male birds. The short tailed male birds recieved very less visits from female than the long tailed male birds.

c) The neck size in giraffes is not considered as intrasexual selection rather its a natural selection.
