List the four stages of Meiosis II (second half of meiosis). What are the major events in each of the four stages?
Ans:
Germ cell: are cells that create reproductive cells called gametes. Germ cells are a central component of sexual reproduction in animals.
Haploid: cells means that they have only one set of chromosomes.
Gametes: are the reproductive cells used during sexual reproduction to produce a new organism called a zygote.
Meiosis: is a specialized form of cell division in which number of chromosomes is reduced to half. The reduction in chromosome number is achieved by one round of DNA replication being followed by two rounds of chromosome segregation with no intervening round of DNA replication.
