Answer #1

Soil deflation is the erosion of the upper loose layer of the soil by wind or other factors. The slit-sized particles along with the clay are picked up in this process and may be carried for thousands of miles.

The continuous sand deflation from an area may result into the formation of the 'hollows'. The sand particles will be continuously picked up by the wind leaving a hollow behind.

A second geologic feature produced by sand deflation is the sand dunes. The area where the deflated soil deposits, a high mountain of the sand will form known as sand dunes. It is a common phenomenon in deserts.
