Water is a precious natural resource in Florida and it is said that supplies are dwindling. Desalinizing (removal of salt) ocean water has been recommended as a solution to the problem. Why shouldn't we drink salt water? Explain in terms of tonicity.

Salt water mostly contains higher concentrations of salts, such as NaCl and MgCl2 . salt water is harmful to the body , as it increases osmolarity and plasma concentration . Drinking of salt water increases tonicity in the body

1)Drinking salt water increases tonicity in the body to decrease tonicity in the body kidney is the main organ for excretion of the salt . kidney will try to get rid of the excess salt by excreting in the urine .To remove such a large amount of salt ,body needs more water , so body along with salt excretes large amounts of the water then the body gets dehydrated .
