how could i estimate the carrying capacity for a population using the jolly seber method? Some of the variables i have obtained include population estimate, dilution rate, apparent survival, finite rate of growth and intristic growth rate. I also have the jolly seber work book, so how can i estimate the carrying capacity from these parameters.

Answer #1

Jolly seber method is used to extend the mark and recapture the open population and can be used to estimate carrying capacity. The open population is used to estimate carrying capacity after permitting the factors such as Birth, death, immigration, emigration, Dilution rate, Growth rate etc). The time intervals between samples need to be constant.

  1. It is based on the fact that each and every individual having the same probability (a t) of being caught in the tth sample, and it doesnt matter that if it is marked or unmarked.

  2. Probability is same for every marked individual (f t) which survive from the tth to the (t+1)st sample.

  3. Marks do not get lost by the Individuals, and these marks are not overlooked at capture.

  4. With relation to the intervals between sample the sampling time is considered negligible.

We have some meanings to estimate engineering parameters from SPT. However, we have not learned how to determine them from DCP tests. In general, it is possible to find correlations between DCP and SPT so the formulations for SPT can be indirectly used to determine engineering parameters from DCP measurements. Find correlations or charts to get engineering parameters from DCP . Include full reference.

Materials: Plastic container with lid (represents a pond) Bag or box of small objects such as editable goldfish, beans, macaroni noodles, etc. (represents the fish) Permanent Marker Calculator Procedure: Add all of your fish to the pond (no more than 150 fish) Randomly capture 40 fish from the pond. Mark those 20 fish with the marker. Return the...

Using the Proceed-Precede Model, how would you apply it to the planning process of a POPULATION-BASED health program that does not include health counseling programs. Include a specific population and topic. So I have wrote this question many times and I think I need to be more clear- I need a specific population and topic related to community health in which there is a population-based health program included within. Basically I just need a population-based health program written up using...

The goal of statistics is to use data to understand something about the world. To obtain useful results, a scientific approach should be followed. The basic approach can be summarized into a few steps. Write a question that can be answered by collecting data. Determine what variables to measure and how to collect a data sample. Analyze the data and create appropriate summaries. Create a report of the results, drawing conclusions or inferences where appropriate. For example, suppose you are...
