Answer #1
  • Metazoa does not contain prokaryotes (Kingdom Monera, includes bacteria, blue-green algae) or protists (Kingdom Protista, includes unicellular eukaryotic organisms.
  • Animalia contains all metazoans with protists and prokaryotic organism that can locomote.(protozoa).
  • Because protozoans and sponges having characters of animal like locomotory organ, heterotrophic mode of nutrion of protozoa, absence of chlorophyll pigments, cell wall absent and food ingeated by engulfment.
  • So they get completely included in animalia now.

Animalia has no chloroplast and cell wall absent while plant has cell wall and presence of chloroplast.

Fungi has saprotrophic mode of nutrition while animal has heterotrophic. Fungi are not motile..but animal can move.

A total of 30 tomato plants were grown in a greenhouse under various conditions consisting of combinations of soil type (I, II, III, IV, and V), and fertilizer type (A,B,C). There were an equal number of plants grown under each combination. After a fixed period of time, the yield (in kilograms) of tomatoes from each plant was measured. What type of experimental design is this?

Black-headed Gulls Niko Tinbergen (1907-1988) was a Swedish Ethologist (animal behaviorist) famous for studying animals in their native habitats. One of his classic experiments involved a bird called the black-headed gull (Larus ridibundus). Black-headed gulls build nests of twigs on the ground and lay light brown eggs with dark brown spots. However, the inside of the egg is white in color. Tinbergen noticed that adult gulls pick up the eggshells shortly after a chick has hatched and fly them to...

Body fat and lean body mass can be estimated in living animals by measuring the total body electrical conductivity (TOBEC). This technique is useful when attempting to determine if "diet drugs" are working on laboratory rats over time– the researchers need not sacrifice the animals to measure the amount of adipose body fat after periods of drug usage. However, the procedure requires that the animal be totally inside the measurement chamber, which is fairly small. Some, but not all the...
