Adult deuterostomes?echinoderms, hemichordates, and chordates?look very different but are closely related.
Discuss the scientific evidence that we as humans (chordates) are more closely related to sea urchins (echinoderms) and acorn worms (hemichordates) than to protostomes.
Scientific Basis:
The phylum echinoderm, and deutostome like chordate , hemichordate have number of similarities like when things organism were developing they had similar type of body spacer coelom, they develop a similar kind of mesoderm the middle germ layer while other germ layer are different ,the formation of a archenteron is same. Also when cell division starts they all form 8 cell stages.
The phylum protostomes include molluscs, arthropods while deuterostomes include echinoderms, chordate like humans in deuterostomes the first opening of body becomes anus in case protostome it becomes mouth which clearly indicate that humans are more related to echinoderm while phylum echinoderm have also similarities in presence of notochord which protostome group never possess.
