Enzyme linked Immunosorbant Assay, used to detect and measure antibody in blood. Used to detect presence of HIV virus in blood.

Steps:

Antigen is adsorbed on the well in ELISA Plate kept in coating buffer.

Remove the buffer and wash the plate.

A buffer with unrelated protein is used to block free sites in the wells.

Again Remove buffer and wash plate.

Binding of labeled antibody to target the analyte.

Wash Plate.

Substrate is added and signal produced by the complex is read.
