Answer #1

dx is number of individuals surviving in past year minus surviving in following year. It gives us number of death occured in 1 year interval.

Like in 0 year 100 were survival and in following year 65. So dx is 100-65=35.

dx for 1st year is 65-45=20.

So 20 individuals dies in between 1st to 2nd year.

lx is the survival rate. It is calculated by number of survivals divided by initial number of population I.e. 100.

lx for second year would be 45/100=.45

lxmx for 3rd year would be 0.30×1=0.30.
