since negative gram bacteria has peptidoglycan. Does it means negative gram bacteria also has N acetylglucosamine and Teichoic acid?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Gram negative bacteria strains consists of 10% of peptidoglycan. As the peptidoglycan layer is a crystal lattice structure formed from the linear chains of two alternating amino sugars, namely N-acetylglucosamine and N-acetylmuramic acid.

Hence, there is the presence of N-acetylglucisamine.

On the other hand Teichoic acid is found in the cells of most gram positive bacterias whereas its absent in the cells of gram negative bacterias.
