Answer #1

Answer:- c) a five-carbon sugar with two phosphates is required

Photosynthesis takes place in two stages

1) light-dependent reactions

2)Calvin cycle (light-independent reactions).

The end product of calvin cycle(dark reaction) is synthesis of a six carbon sugar, which need input of carbon dioxide. To produce single molecule of six carbon sugar it joins six molecules of CO2 by six turns of the cycle. The first process is cooperation of CO2 with ribulose-1,5 bisphosphate which is a five carbon sugar with 2 phosphate group. The enzyme RUBISCO catalyzes carboxylation reaction.

During the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis: G3Ps get rearranged to make 5-carbon sugars with phosphates for every three CO2, 7 G3Ps are made the main product is 3-phosphoglycerate a single glucose molecule can leave the cycle but the rest go back in a proton-motive force directly powers reduction of CO2
