Gene regulation can be done by using different methods which targets get the product present at different stages of gene production. It can be done by regulating the DNA or regulating the transport of molecules or regulating the post translational products etc.

The method which targets a specific genes mrna for degradation is known as translational control. The first method among the gene regulation is the transcriptional control. It keeps in check the transcription process and also genome control.
