This approach dominated experimental design of the period. In the first half of the 20th century, a great deal of attention was given to studies of plant models chosen for extraordinary environmental responses, reproducibility of a given response, or amenability to biochemical analyses. More recently, plant science has focused on mechanistic and genetic studies in a very small number of model plant species chosen for their amenability to molecular genetic manipulation with less regard for the universality of the phenomena observed. Arguably, more has been discovered about the basic mechanisms of plant biology in the past 35 years than in the preceding century. However, to make the best use of our accumulated knowledge, we now must understand the complexity of interacting systems both within plants and between plants and their environment. In the modern day flourish of molecular biology, genetics give us more dynamic idea about the plants interaction with their environment. In previous century we focused on the physiological phenomenon. But it is not now a useful method. Because the impact of environment is different for different plants. The climate change, soil type, biodiversity, ecosystem all the factors are responsible to better understand the interaction between plant and the environment. Modern days competition increase the carbon dioxide emissions, soil pollution which have the negative impact on plant. But for survival different plants have different mechanism.
