Describe the signal transduction pathway with ?-adrenergic receptor. Explain.
Beta adrenergic receptor are G protein couple receptor which spans the cell membrane and interacts with epinephrin. When epineprin binds to beta adrenergic receptor, it binds to the side of the receptor which is present extracellularly, The binding chages the structure of the receptor at cytoplasmic face. The activated receptor then binds with the Gs a subunit of the G protein and thus activates a downstrea signalling cascade. The signalling cascade initiaes with the activation of adenylyl cyclase. Further in the siganalling pahway, cAMP or cyclic adenosine induce PKA or protein kinase A. After this PKA can phosphorylate and inactivates myosin light chain kinse, This kinase is responsible for smooth muscle relaxation.
