In humans, the ABO blood type is controlled by a single gene with three possible alleles. Allele IA codes for blood type A and is co-dominant to allele IB which codes for blood type B. Allele i is recessive to the other two and codes for blood type O. A man of blood group O marries a woman of blood group A.  The wife's father is blood group O.  What is the probability that their children will have blood group O?

Human ABO blood type is determined by three alleles (IA, IB, and i) whose gene products modify the H antigen produced by protein activity of an independently assorting H gene. A rare abnormality known as the “Bombay phenotype” is the result of epistatic interaction between the gene for the ABO blood group and the H gene. Individuals with the Bombay phenotype appear to have blood type O based on the inability of both anti-A antibody and anti-B antibody to detect...

In humans, the ABO blood type is under the control of autosomal multiple alleles, while color blindness is a recessive X-linked trait. If two parents who are both type B and have normal vision produce a son who is color blind and is type O, what is the probability that their next child will be a male and has normal vision and is type O? explain your answer

Part III: Non-Mendelian Genetics 1.   In four-o’clock flowers red petals are incompletely dominant over white petals, producing pink petal flowers in the heterozygous stage. What would be the probability of having white offspring if two pink flowered plants were crossed? 2.   In humans, there are three alleles for blood types, A = IA, B = IB, and O = i. Type A and B are co-dominant alleles and type O is recessive. Could a man with type AB blood be...

In humans, hemophilia depends on a recessive allele of a sex-linked gene. Hemophilia is a disease in which the blood fails to clot properly. A man whose father was hemophilic, but whose own clotting time is normal, marries a normal woman with no record of hemophilia in her ancestry. What is the chance of hemophilia in her children?
