i. Igneous:

Example: granite, pegmatite, diorite
ii. Sedimentary:
These rocks are formed due to deposition of particles from other rocks or plant and animal remains. The particles get pressed and cemented together.
Example: sandstone and limestone
iii. Metamorphic:
These rocks are formed from other existing rocks (igneous and sedimentary) through heat, pressure or chemical alteration/changes.
Example: anthracite, marble, slate
