Why is gene repression by noncoding RNA more efficient than repression by a protein repressor?
The gene repressor by non coding RNA is more efficient than a protein repressor. Because when repressor is found in inactive state, then there is found activation of gene expression. But thr non coding RNA always binds to the target RNA and restrict its protein synthesis. The noncoding RNA either remains bound to the mRNA and ribosome can not bind to it or this ds RNA is degraded by the RNase enzyme of the system. That's why the non coding RNQ is more efficient than the protein repressor.
