What is the main function of tRNA?
tRNA or transfer RNA reads a message from the nucleic acid, which is the mRNA, and helps in the incorporation of amino acids according to the code in the mRNA for the synthesis of proteins.
The tRNA is an adaptor molecule that recognizes a triplet codon on the mRNA and positions the suitable anticodon for it, that is present on the tRNA. While doing this, it gets charged with an amino acid specific for the codon forming an amino acyl tRNA and thus binding to the A site of the ribosome for adding the amino acid to the growing poly peptide chain. Theus these tRNAs are used for for unambiguous translation of a nucleic acid code to a protein.
