Acromegaly is caused by overproduction of growth hormone by enlarged pituitary gland. Benign pituitary gland tumors are mostly cause of acromegaly. One of the symptoms of acromegaly is spacing between teeth is observed. Human growth hormone (HGH) is required for growth and metabolism and therefore controls body structure.

Testosterone is required for sperm production in males and development of secondary sexual characteristics. AAS are androgenic anabolic steroids include testosterone. Dehydroepiandrosterone or DHEA is produced by adrenal glands, and is precursor for sex steroids, estrogen and testosterone.
