In a post-apocalyptic world where large predatory plants called piranha plants have taken over the world, a herbicide was produced by the surviving humans. Up until the discovery of the herbicide, it was left to plumbers to stop the piranha plants. The plumbers were at a disadvantage though, their jump attacks did nothing to stop these plants! The herbicide prevents the plants Z protein from working. Explain how this herbicide kills the plants.

Answer #1

Piranha plants are one of the large insectivorous or say carnivorous plants. They might used to digest the animal flesh using the Z protein.

Z protein might be the key enzymatic protein which might be essential for digesting the insects or small animals, which are caught by the plants.

If this Z protein is stopped from its function, then the Piranha plants might not be able to digest the animal flesh that they catch.

As the herbicide made the Z protein not to work, Piranha plant might not be able to digest the flesh, which in turn results in the death of these carnivorous Piranha plants.
