Molecular and Cell Biology Questions

4-What is the mechanism of Clathrin-mediated endocytosis and how do transport vesicles select cargo?

5-What are the functions of Rab proteins, tethering proteins, and SNAREs during vesicle trafficking to a specific target membrane?

6-What do the ER chaperones do? What is the unfolded protein response (UPR)?

7-Why are some signal transduction mechanisms very fast and others slow after they reach their target cells(think about the types of targets these signals reach in a cell)?

Answer #1

ans-4 in the clathrin mediated endocytosis the target substances is received into the cell through the bud formation inside the plasma membrane. the receptors are present over the plasma membrane and below the position of those receptor there are AP2 complex and clathrin molecules. when the receptors receives some target the bud is foprmed inside the cell which is copated by the clathrin molecules. when this vacuole is filled with the target substance then this vacuole deattach itself from plasma membrane and then this bud get opened and the target substance get ito the cell cytoplasm.

this process is receptor mediated so the cargo is selected on the basis of the receptors present over the plasma membrane. the receptors recognise the target molecules.
