Answer #1

Straight and bent little finger is controlled by one gene with two alleles with dominant recessive relationship.  In some cases it is observed that the little finger bends towards the ring finger and this is dominant trait. Both homozygous dominant and heterozygous for the gene have bent little finger. The straight finger condition is caused due to homozygous recessive genotype. So the persons with straight little finger have always homozygous recessive genotype for the gene controlling bent / straight little finger trait.

Can someone please explain to me why the medulla is smaller rostral to the spinal cord? The explanation given to me via my powerpoint & lecture is that majority of the tracts have already decussated to the opposite side and then descend as the lateral corticospinal tract. I feel silly, but I don't understand how changing sides somehow makes you no longer a part of the medulla. Can someone make this make sense because I feel like a crazy person...

Suppose someone has told you that he will pay you $500 if you can roll a die and have it land on a 6. You both agree that you will use a virtual die that can be found at this website. Be sure to set it on one die, and not two. You are not certain that using a die such as this virtual die is actually as fair as a normal plastic die and want to justify for yourself...

Our nutrition and eating patterns are shaped by our perceptions of food; what we have learned to like and dislike, what we feel is healthful, and it is even formed by our family, cultural, and religious beliefs. For this discussion, list five foods/liquids you like and five foods/liquids you don't like and/or avoid. For each you like, describe why you like them. For example, you might say I like to eat chocolate chip cookies because they remind me of my...

I have a question for my homework that says to react the following compounds with one equivalent of NBS with CCl4, and that they give only one major product. Then we have to explain why we gave our answers. I think this was just an accident that my professor left it out of the question, but wouldn't the reaction with NBS and CCl4 also need heat or light and peroxides to work? I've done the questions as if they were...
