• If the species tend to have same kind of food, there causes a competition between them for the resource and the fittest shall survive and the other is eliminated. These can even cause the extinction of a species(eg: Abington tortoise and goats in Galapagos island)
• If they share the food(fruit eating birds and seed eating birds sharing a fruit) or has some kind of specialization in food, they help them to coexist in same environment without competition.
