What is the difference between empirical and theoretical approaches when studying evolution? please hurry

Answer- Empirical approach is totally based on practical observation of things such as fossil records of past time and preserved specimens. While theoretical approach involves creating theory based on existing knowledge about evolution.

Evolutionary research progresses very slowly by critical observation of past things in Empirical approach, while theoretical approach creates a hypothesis or theory regarding evolution since past time and is based on current knowledge or thinking about evolution.

Although Empirical approach is seems to be more accurate but evolution can be best studied by the collaboration/correlation of both approaches.
