Can you explain in detail the mechanism of how Nicergolina acts in the body against Ateroesclerosis? (written in computer please, I can't understand some handwritings) Thanks
Nicergoline is an organonitrogen heterocyclic compound and an organic heterotetracyclic compound. This is an ergot derivative that has been used as a cerebral vasodilator and in peripheral vascular diseases. Atherosclerosis is the disease in which fats, cholesterol and other substances will buildup in and on your artery walls, which can restrict blood flow. Nicergoline decreases this vascular resistance and increases arterial blood flow by vasodilation and improves the utilization of oxygen and glucose. It has similar vasoactive properties in other areas of the body. Unlike many other ergolines such as ergotamine, nicergoline is not associated with fibrosis.
