The plague is a vector-borne infectious bacterial disease caused because of bacterium Yersinia pestis. This bacteria are usually present in rodents and transmitted to humans via fleas that feed on them. It can also be caused by direct or indirect physical contact with an infected person and via droplet infection. It is a serious disease, also called as Black Plague. It was the world's recorded most fatal pandemic. It leads mostly to bubonic plague, but sometimes also lead to septicaemic and pneumonic plagues. The symptoms are fever, headache, lymph node swelling and in septicaemic one, the tissues turn coloring to black. The bacterium has a history to be used as a biological weapon, during world war 2 by the Japanese army. Now, there is a vaccine on the plague and can be easily treated.
