The complement system is an effector arm of our immune system. It consists of ~30 serum and other proteins. There are three pathways of complement activation, namely, the classical pathway, the lectin pathway and the alternative pathway. C3 convertase is required in all the three pathways, apart from other complement proteins that are required in one or the other pathway.

Thus, mutation in these proteins would affect all the three pathways.
