"Suppose flower color in a plant is determined by one gene with two alleles, B and b, with incomplete dominance. B specifies blue pigment molecules and b specifies no pigment molecules. A darker blue-flowered plant and a lighter blue-flowered plant are crossed. What is the expected frequency of plants with white flowers among their offspring?"
Ans. -
Dark blue flowered plant is homozygous dominant - BB
Light blue coloured plant is Bb ( incomplete dominance of blue and white).
When we cross BB with Bb , all plants in F1 generation will be blue ans only 2 genotypes are possible- BB or Bb
bb is white which is not possiblle in such a cross.
For white coluour genotype is bb and after crossing there is zero bb so zero white plants.
