What is the value of species diversity to you (in other words why is the polar bear important to you)? (please can someone go in depth please type i have a problem reading handwriting)
A species is important for the biodiversity in which each and every species is important for the increase in economic productivity. A polar bear is the apex predator of the arctic ecosystem, it controls the population of all the population below it. either it is a consumer or the producer. If polar bears go extinct the species which are the prey od polar bear will be out of control and then they will eat their prey, thereby eliminating the prey population.
So the extinction of one population leads to the extinction of many other species directly or indirectly..
