Answer #1

Answer A) Dispersal is the movement of individuals or seeds to other site or spreading away from near ones from the original area. Dispersal can be active or passive dispersal.
There are three types of dispersal:
1. Uniform Dispersal- when there is equal separation.
2. Random dispersal- when there is no pattern of dispersal
3. Clumped dispersal - when the dispersion is in groups.

Migration is the movement of species form one place to another in large numbers. In migration every individual is taken and none is left behind.

Answer B) There are many different reasons for migration.
Few migrants migrate to short distances in search of food and better living conditions.
Some migrate for breeding.
Some migrate to escape form harsh environmental conditions. Some migrate to be safe from prey.

What is planetary migration, and how may it account for the surprising orbits of many extrasolar planets? A) Many extrasolar planets are much closer to their stars than we had expected. In fact, our formation model does not allow jovian planets to form that close to their stars. However, we think that it is possible for planets to migrate through their disks because of interactions with the gas in the disk. B) Many extrasolar planets are much closer to their...
