Ans. Hydrochlorothiazide belongs to thiazide class of diuretics . It reduce blood volume by acting on the kidney to reduce sodium .Na+ or Cl- reabsorption in distil convoluted tubule by blocking the thiazide - sensitive Na+ - Cl- symporter.

It is used to treat high blood pressure and accumulation of fluid (edema) .treat  due to fluid build up.this help yuur body get rid of extra salt and water
